National Merrit & National Achievement Scholarship News! Megan Foster and Joshua Mosby were named semifinalists of the National Achievement Scholarship Program, the only two from Brevard County. They will compete for one of the 700 National Achievement scholarships which are awarded on a regional basis. In addition, Holy Trinity had eight National Merit Semifinalists: Hannah Chalmers, Blake Hament, Samuel Hoagland, Savannah McKendree, Michael Motro, Nickolas Padinha, Alice Rhee, and Andrew Theodotou. We also have six National Merit Commended students: Natalie Amgott, Anand Desai, Megan Foster, Joshua Mosby, Katelyn Mussman, and Grace Pezzeminti. These 16 recognized students represent 19% of the class of 2010 which is comprised of 83 students.
What is most significant to the Holy Trinity Community is the impact that all of these students have had through the years. They are a talented, diverse, and motivated group of leaders that have taken every aspect of our school, from academics, athletics, extracurricular opportunities and community service, to a higher level. Several of these students are currently taking Multivariable Calculus, a course typically offered only on a college campus. Each of these students are involved in student clubs such as Green is Good, Academic Team, Philosophy Club, Debate Club, and Peer Mentoring. Some of these students are members of our state championship cross country team. Others have committed themselves to service and leadership projects to influence others, both on our campus and in Brevard County. In short, the presence of this group of students has a trickledown effect with our entire student body as they are inspired to reach for the top in all areas.
Vets in the Wild: Brian Lang ’08 is shown here in South Africa where he participated in a "Vets in the Wild" program. The students did large game captures, and then went into the squatter camps and vaccinated the animals. HTEA students do "go anywhere!" http://www.ecolife.co.za/images/VW02%20July%207%20(13)_jpg.jpg
