All students are provided with a broad-based science background, thus ensuring success in college, and developing a well-rounded and engaged citizenry.
Curiosity is the nature of science. Critical thinking and problem solving are essential to developing a strong foundation for success in this changing world. Science is best learned through a systematic sequence, which includes a variety of experiences involving critical thinking and analysis. Students practice the scientific investigation process through a combination of direct instruction, hands-on lab experiments, and field studies.
Science classes include Life Science advanced and Physical Science. Life Science allows students to discover how life on earth functions through an inquiry and investigative approach. Physical Science is a broad survey science course covering the general categories of matter and energy. Students will make use of our laboratory facilities, media center, and classroom tools in their scientific investigations. Physical Science is offered at a college preparatory and college preparatory honors level and students receive high school credit upon completion of the physical science course.
