Theatre Arts

Beginning in the Early Childhood Division, students participate in a variety of programs encouraging the theatre arts. From singing and dancing to actual monologues, young students are prepared for the more advanced instruction that follows in the junior and senior high programs.

Two major productions each year give many students the opportunity to participate and share their talents. The courses at the Upper School are designed to train both the serious and beginning student, while encouraging continued theatre participation and appreciation.

The Thespian Society is an honor society for Senior High Theatre Arts students. Through hard work, sacrifice, and dedication the members earn sufficient points to have the right to be called Thespians. Commitment to theatre is what the International Thespian Society is all about.  It is named for Thespis the Greek who, according to legend, was the first actor.  Our guiding principle is excellence in all we do or say.  We promise to perform our parts as well as we can, to accept praise and criticism with grace, to cooperate with our fellow Thespians, to work for the good of the troupe, and to share our love of theatre.
