Frequently Asked Questions

List of 11 frequently asked questions.

  • Q: What is senior stroll, and can parents attend?

Senior stroll occurs on the last day of class for seniors and is a send off from the underclassmen, faculty and staff. Two of the senior orators will be speaking.

Parents are welcome to attend, and doors to the auditorium will open at 2:30 pm. Parents will be asked to sit in a designated area and are asked to stay in their seats for photography/recording and to allow our current students to enjoy the event.
  • Q: How long does baccalaureate typically last?

The service is typically 90 minutes, followed by a 20-30 minute student-produced senior video.
  • Q: Do all guests need a ticket for graduation?

All guests need to have a ticket in hand to enter the auditorium on graduation day. Babies or children under the age of 2 who will be sitting in an adult’s lap do not need a ticket (strollers cannot be accommodated).

Alumni who have reserved tickets may pick them up on the day of graduation at the alumni tent.
  • Q: What if my family has extra graduation tickets?

Extra tickets should be returned to Mrs. Arter in the front office. These tickets will be used to fulfill requests from the ticket waitlist.
  • Q: What if my family is on the waitlist for tickets?

Every attempt will be made to fulfill waitlist requests. Waitlist tickets, if available, will be distributed during the week of graduation. The number of waitlist tickets depends on how many unused tickets are returned to the office.
  • Q: What time will the doors open for graduation?

We will open the south doors to the auditorium at 9 a.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Ushers will be asking guests to fill in all available seats to allow seating for all guests.
  • Q: How long does graduation typically last?

The ceremony lasts approximately 90 minutes, followed by 30 minutes in the courtyard for the tossing of the caps, butterfly release and photos.
  • Q: How will each graduate be recognized at the graduation ceremony?

Each student will be called by name to receive their diploma from Dr. Cobb, followed by Dr. Kelce or Mrs. Giangrisostomi turning their tassel.

As your child receives his or her diploma and walks across the stage, we encourage you to stand as a family and applaud this momentous event. We ask that you do not use any loud noisemakers or participate in excessive screaming which would interfere with the announcement of the next graduate. Every student has worked very hard to get to this special moment, and they all deserve their own recognition.

  • Q: Which aisle will my graduate be processing down?

Most students will process down one aisle and out the other. Students will be able to give you more information after the mandatory student rehearsal on Tuesday, May 14, where they will be seated on stage.
  • Q: Will there be a professional photographer at graduation?

Grad Images will capture a shot of each graduate receiving and holding their diploma. You will receive an email after the ceremony for ordering purposes.

Our marketing department photographers will also be taking pictures during all graduation events; these photos will be posted on our Facebook page.

We ask for guests to remain in their seats while taking pictures or recording and be cognizant of other guests, maintaining a clear view for those seated around them.
  • Q: Will the graduation and baccalaureate services be recorded for out of town guests?

A professional recording of the graduation ceremony will be available for purchase from CC Video Productions, and families may order the DVD or Blu-ray recording for summer delivery by submitting the order form available in this packet, in the front office or online at www.htacademy.org/grad-dvd.

A livestream of both baccalaureate and graduation will be available on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/HolyTrinityEpiscopalAcademy/
