Back to School Updates

Dear Parents,

As we’ve all experienced in the past few months, COVID-19 has forced us to adapt and embrace change. As Holy Trinity Tigers – students, faculty and staff – our values and actions are more important than ever as we navigate the challenges presented by the pandemic and work together to protect ourselves and one another. As we near the start of the school year on Wednesday, Sept. 2, we ask that you attend to several important tasks and take note of upcoming orientation events to help prepare you and your students for the 2020-21 school year. Please review this communication carefully as there are many important details included.

Family Handbook Acknowledgement and COVID-19 Policies and Procedures
At the beginning of each academic year, we ask all school families to review and acknowledge our HTEA Family Handbook. This year, we are adding an addendum to the traditional handbook related to COVID-specific policies and procedures. Establishing a common set of expectations and commitments is essential to navigating the next school year and we ask you to thoughtfully consider the information included.

Each family must review the 2020-2021 Family Handbook and 2020-21 COVID-19 Policies and Procedures located in onCampus under “Important Documents and Quicklinks” button, then complete the HTEA Family Handbook Acknowledgement (see versions for Upper and Lower Schools) and COVID-19 Assumption of Risk Waiver located in “Back to School Paperwork” button prior to starting school by Sunday, Aug. 30.

Health Screening App
As previously announced, we have purchased a COVID-19 health screening application for use by faculty, staff and students to help ensure that all those entering our campuses are free of COVID symptoms. After initial beta tests of the Ascend app over the summer, it did not prove to be as complete and reliable as needed; therefore, we have engaged with the more robust and user-friendly AUXS Safety App.

On Monday, Aug. 24, each parent will be receiving an email directly from AUXS titled "Welcome to Safety App" with instructions on how to set up your account. The link will expire in 48 hours, so you must activate your account by Wednesday, Aug. 26. We ask that all parents activate their students’ accounts and begin using the application daily beginning next Wednesday, Aug. 26, to become accustomed and get into the habit of completing the daily health screening before school begins on Sept. 2.

Please remember, anyone entering campus, including students participating in the August Enrichment opportunities and student orientations, MUST complete this health screening prior to entering campus.
It is imperative that parents ensure each and every student completes the health screening prior to leaving home each day. Students will not be permitted on campus without completing their screening. A vital part of the daily health screening is a temperature check, so please purchase a thermometer now if you do not have one. Please do not delay, as thermometers may be out of stock in some stores and may require additional time to arrive. Any method of temperature check: oral, temporal, tympanic (ear), or rectal is acceptable. If your Upper School student will attend August Enrichment programs and you have questions regarding the AUXS Safety App, please email Upper School nurse, Emily Totre, at: etotre@htes.org.
View more information about the AUXS Safety App.

Updates to Health and Safety Plan
Please note, our Health and Safety Plan has been updated to reflect recent changes in our face covering policy, AUXS Safety App and other details.

Supervised Study
For safety reasons, rising 7th and 8th graders are not permitted to be on campus, unsupervised, past 3:15 p.m. If you are unable to pick up your student during the carline hours, Holy Trinity offers Supervised Study in the Library, 3:15-5 p.m. The cost is $6 per hour or $145 monthly for unlimited use. The monthly plan is suggested if parents plan on using the service for more than five hours per week. Due to staffing constraints, there will be a $25 fee for late pick-up between 5:05 and 5:20 p.m. and beyond that, $5 an hour will be charged. Sign-up is located under the "Back to School Paperwork" button in onCampus. Contact Mrs. Melissa Euziere, Head of Junior High, at meuziere@htes.org with any questions.

Communication from Heads of Junior and Senior High
Parents, please note, all future emails that concern both junior high and high school will come from the email address: htus-administration@htes.org. Please save this address in your address book to ensure that you receive these important emails.
