Speech and Debate
Congratulations to our students who participated in the Brevard County Speech and Debate Tournament last Saturday!
In the Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Emily Cleveland placed 2nd overall, including varsity, and is the first high school student in HT's history to win an award at a Speech and Debate tournament; Faz Zaidi placed 1st for middle school!
In Original Oratory, Sydney Smith won 1st place middle school and 2nd place overall, including high school varsity; Karrington Lawson won 2nd place middle school; Olivia Christie ranked 2nd in two rounds!
In Oral Interpretation of Literature, Mary Lou Galesi won 1st place middle school!
In Public Forum Debate, Braxton LaNois and Kiran Shay won 1st place middle school and 3rd place overall; Priya Gutta and Brianna Ramnath won 2nd place middle school.
In Declamation, Anissa Dye won 2nd place middle school; Liza Cleveland competed in all four rounds at the tournament!
