National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists, Commended and Hispanic Scholars

Nine percent of our 2019 senior class has been recognized by National Merit Scholarship Program!
Congratulations to Lisa Bain, Soy Choi, Michael Roth and Charles Woods for qualifying as Semifinalists in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program. These students are among 16,000 semifinalists in the 64th annual National Merit Program. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be offered next spring. We wish these students luck as they continue with the requirements to advance to the Finalist level.

National Merit Commended students have also been announced and seniors Hari Dandapani, Max Pagan, Nikhil Patel, Karina Popowycz (not pictured) and Luca Valdivia qualified for this recognition, placing them in the top 50,000 scorers nationally for the 1.6 million students in the 2019 competition.   Max, Karina and Luca were also named National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholars, scoring in the top 2.5% among Hispanic and Latino PSAT takers.

All Holy Trinity 9th-11th graders will be taking the PSAT at Holy Trinity on October 10, with 11th graders competing for future National Merit Scholar recognition.  All 9th-11th graders have completed PSAT pre-registration and were given information about preparing for the PSAT through their grade level guidance retreat days.
