Liberty, Freedom, Peace: A Poem for Our Veterans

All throughout our country’s history, lived the greatest heroes the world has ever known, the American military. All of them fought long and hard facing their biggest fears. These heroes knew what their job and purpose was to protect liberty and freedom! You could count on them to climb the ends of the earth for our country. In the end, the military molded the United States of America! A country with endless opportunities, all because of these heroes who are now veterans.
Here in the United States, you can look out your window and know there is liberty, freedom, and peace. You see a world with endless opportunities, all because of the valiant Americans who were and are so deeply committed to their country. Only they have the knowledge of how it feels to leave their loved ones behind, and to not know if they would see their families again, wondering if that was their last hug or goodbye. Imagine! It takes a strong will to let that all go.
There is a saying that life is ten percent what happens to you and ninety percent how you react to it. Veterans reacted to the call and chose to take action for their country with great courage. They put ink to paper with a signature knowing what they signed up for, but accepted so bravely! They poured their blood, sweat, and tears on the battle fields. Some even sacrificed their lives facing the opposing side. They stood tall, defended us, and never gave up until they won the biggest trophy of all; freedom, rights, and peace! Veterans have our eternal respect because we can enjoy the United States of America. We thank you for liberty, freedom, and peace.
