What do you look forward to the most about teaching at Holy Trinity?
I look forward to working at Holy Trinity because the academics, students, parents, faculty, staff, and administration are highly regarded in the community, and I am excited to be a part of that. I like the college prep atmosphere that HT has, and I look forward to preparing students and getting them excited about their college careers.
How do you inspire a student who has a hard time with your subject area?
I inspire all of my students in math by building their confidence not only in their academic ability, but in themselves, as well. It is important that a student believes they have the ability to be successful in math even if they struggled in their previous years. Building that confidence in junior high will lead them to a more successful high school and college career.
What do you love about teaching?
There are so many things I love about teaching. I love when students come up to me and tell me how much they’ve learned and how they finally understand math. Knowing I’ve helped them through a struggle, either academically or personally is very rewarding.
What has been your most memorable moment in teaching?
There have been many memorable moments in my teaching career. The most recent was last year when I was awarded Teacher of the Year at my school. It was an incredible feeling to realize how highly my colleagues thought of me and that they recognized how hard I worked to help my students achieve.
If you were not teaching, what would you be doing?
If I wasn’t a teacher, I would have liked to have been a physical therapist. Both teaching and physical therapy involves helping others, which is a passion of mine.
