Kathy Rios
Mrs. Rios serves as a College & Academic Advisor, bringing over a decade of experience in College Preparatory, Christian education. Before relocating to Florida, she served as Director of Guidance & International Student Programs at a private Christian preparatory school in Massachusetts. Earlier in her career, she worked in public middle and junior high special education and therapeutic programs. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and is currently completing her M.A. in Counseling, with expected completion in March 2026. Her professional interests include academic and college planning, student success advising, and supporting students from other countries who are studying in the U.S. Mrs. Long is especially passionate about helping students identify and develop their strengths and interests, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to pursue and achieve their academic, college, and career goals. Alongside her work in education, she and her husband successfully owned and operated several fast-casual restaurants in Massachusetts for 35 years, selling their final location in the spring of 2023. She also has a heart for ministry, having served as Director of Children’s Ministries for 15 years and, more recently, as a member of the Women’s Ministry Advisory Board. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time at the beach, being with her family, and researching for a historical fiction novel she plans to write. She and her husband have five adult daughters, all but the youngest are married with families and careers of their own.
