Kathy Rios

Mrs. Rios serves as a College & Academic Advisor at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, bringing nearly 15 years of experience in K–12 education within both public and private Christian school settings. Prior to relocating to Florida in 2024, she served as Director of Guidance and International Student Programs at a private Christian preparatory school in Massachusetts, where she supported students and families in academic and college planning, as well as international admissions and student services. Earlier in her career, she worked in public middle and junior high special education and therapeutic programs, helping students develop the skills and confidence needed to thrive academically and personally.

Mrs. Rios holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling. Her professional interests include academic and college advising, student success coaching, strengths-based development, and supporting students from diverse cultural backgrounds. She is an active member of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), the Southern Association for College Admission Counseling (SACAC), and the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). Guided by her Christian faith, Mrs. Rios values an open-door approach to advising and partnering with families.  She is passionate about encouraging students to develop their strengths, how to overcome obstacles, and develop the confidence, skills, and independence necessary to take ownership of their educational journey in preparation for success in college, career, and life.

In addition to her work in education, Mrs. Rios and her husband created, owned, and operated several fast-casual restaurants in Massachusetts for approximately 35 years and are now retired from the restaurant industry. She also has a longstanding heart for ministry, having served as a Director of Children's Ministries for 15 years and later as a member of a Women's Ministry Advisory Board, where she enjoyed fostering spiritual growth and encouraging families within the church community.

Mrs. Rios and her husband are blessed with five college-educated adult daughters who are established professionals. Four are married and raising families of their own, while their youngest daughter graduated from college in 2025 and is pursuing her professional career. Outside of work, Mrs. Rios enjoys spending time with family, visiting the beach, exercising, and conducting research for a historical fiction novel she hopes to write in the future.
