Katina Long

Mrs. Long is a seasoned educator, counselor, and mentor with more than 30 years of dedicated service in K-12 education. Before joining the Holy Trinity faculty 2 years ago, she relocated to Florida and served as the Principal and Director of College and Guidance Counseling at Florida Preparatory Academy over a period of 7 years. She also served as a school counselor at Vero Beach High School for three years. Prior to relocating to Florida, Mrs. Long’s education and counseling experience in Georgia and Tennessee spanned over 20 years in both public and private institutions including Mount Vernon Presbyterian School where she worked for 7 years as a counselor, SAT/ACT tutor, and cheerleading coach. She is also a successful entrepreneur with a college counseling business serving students all over the US for more than 15 years. 

 

Mrs. Long holds BA and MA degrees in Clinical Child Psychology and an Ed.S in School Counseling from the University of Tennessee. She is an active member of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), the American Psychological Association (APA), and the Southern and National Association of College Admissions Counseling (SACAC/NACAC). Her approach to counseling and education is rooted in a strong Christian faith and the belief that every adolescent possesses unique strengths that can assist them in reaching their highest potential. She designs her mentoring and coaching strategies around individualized learning plans, cultural sensitivity, and continuous feedback loops. Her unwavering passion for youth development is evident in her open-door policy, where students and families feel heard, supported, and inspired to take ownership of their educational journey. That open door policy can also be seen in her personal and family life. She and her husband have four sons and many more “adopted” children who have shared their home over the past 20 years. To relax and recharge, she enjoys spending time with family watching and attending sporting events, traveling around the world, and making beautiful music together.
