School Chaplain

The Rev. Garcia Barnswell-Schmidt, affectionately known as Chaplain Garcia, joined the Holy Trinity family in 2014. Chaplain Garcia earned her bachelor’s at the University of Florida and her M.Div. at the School of Theology-Sewanee. In her capacity as Head Chaplain, she ministers to students, faculty, and staff. Her love for children and youth, and her passion to teach them about God and his love for them, drives her ministry at Holy Trinity forward. Additionally, she serves on the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida staff as a youth coordinator and mentor to other school chaplains in the Chaplain’s Mentorship Program of the National Association of Episcopal Schools (NAES).
