The American Way: A Poem for Our Veterans
As the brave soldier salutes the flag everyday
He will show us the American way
When people stare at the waving flag up above
They will show their country’s steadfast love
In war or in peace, the military and veterans all need to know
They are appreciated and admired everywhere they go
The military and veterans understand how to fight the war
For liberty, freedom, and protecting our rights galore
The flag helps us to pledge our hearts so true
Did you know some Americans gave their life to protect you?
The flag waving up high is as beautiful as can be
Think about how the military heroes sacrificed their life for you and me!
As John 15:13 says, “No one has greater love than this,
to lay down one’s life for one’s friends”
