The Visual Arts program seeks to raise each student's awareness of their own potential, to be insightful and discerning observers of the world around them, and to cultivate proficiency and creativity in the visual arts, including the interdisciplinary engagement of these skills. Visual arts courses are a discipline-based curriculum where art history and appreciation is taught along with the elements of art.

Our Early Childhood through grade 12 visual arts program offers nurturing yet rigorous studio environment and instructional approaches supporting a diverse range of aptitudes and learning styles.

Experiences in the visual arts and the development of a personal aesthetic are essential to balanced growth.

  • Guiding constructive self-expression
  • Exposing students to a variety of artistic styles in historical and contemporary contexts
  • Providing experience with a variety of media, technical processes, and studio problem-solving
  • Developing a portfolio for presentation to colleges
Visual art courses are rigorous in addressing age-appropriate learning goals. Courses are designed to support every kind of learner to engage in new visual arts experiences and modes of expression, to take risks in their learning processes and objectives, and to value self-reflection.
