Exciting News About the Future of HT Football
We are excited to announce the appointment of Steve Henderson as Manager of Football Operations. Many of you know Coach Henderson as Holy Trinity’s Dean of Students and head coach of our boys basketball team, taking them to Regionals this year. He has also coached recreational youth football for many years and is well connected and respected in the Brevard community. Coach Henderson will bring his vast experience to benefit the football program, as he aims to put a focus on developing younger HT student athletes.
Coach Nate Hooks, head coach for varsity football, and Coach Henderson’s first priority will be to hold pre-spring season strength training and conditioning for all current varsity players whether they are playing in the spring season or are looking to maintain their fitness program in preparation for fall. In addition, Coach Hooks and his staff are looking to establish a younger level team for students in grades 7-10. Depending on initial student interest, the team will either be a 7 on 7 team or a formalized Junior Varsity (JV) team that will play a competitive 5-6 game season beginning this fall.
JV players will work under the direction of dedicated JV Coaches and in addition, they will have opportunities to practice with the varsity team and participate in strength and conditioning sessions, flag football and other practical drills.
In the coming weeks, you will be hearing more about plans to cultivate new and younger Tiger talent, as well as more details on our varsity program and schedule as the spring season gets underway.
Go Tigers!
