What do you look forward to the most about teaching at Holy Trinity?
I am very excited about teaching at Holy Trinity because of the positive environment. Everyone I have met, both at Holy Trinity and in the community, has had wonderful things to say about the school and the students. I have felt at home here since the minute I walked in the door.
What is the most important life lesson you want a child to learn in your classroom?
I want students to learn that having an inquisitive, open mind is essential to living a fulfilled life. Being able to read, investigate, and learn about issues and form your own opinion about things makes you a better person.
What motivated you to become a teacher?
My parents were both literature professors, and I grew up seeing how much they loved teaching. Watching them inspire students to learn made me realize that I wanted to be a teacher, too. I have four siblings, and all of us are either teachers or married to teachers!
What experiences or people have had the most influence on you?
Throughout all my years of teaching, my students and my experiences with them have influenced me the most.
What do you love about teaching?
My favorite part of teaching is the “light bulb” moments when I see a student who suddenly understands the concept of what we are learning. Those are the moments that make all the hard work worth it!
