Holy Trinity’s tagline is: “Start Here. Go Anywhere.” How do you envision helping students to live this motto?
As teachers, not only do we help our students grow academically, but personally as well. Children take the skills they learn while they are with us and apply them in many different settings. I want to help my students to not feel limited about what they can or cannot do. My hope is that they will develop the confidence to feel as if they can “Go Anywhere.” Having been an HT “lifer,” I feel as though I can lead by example. Holy Trinity opened up a world of opportunities for me to go anywhere. However, I chose to return to the place where it all started for me to help other students realize their potential.

What do you look forward to the most about teaching at Holy Trinity?
I look forward to being able to give back to a place that played such a huge role in shaping me into who I am today.

In what professional development activities have you participated recently?
Over the summer, I was given the opportunity to attend the Conscious Discipline conference in Orlando. I learned so much about how development plays into the social-emotional interactions students encounter every day. I learned how to incorporate multiple strategies into my classroom, and so far my students love it! Each aspect provides a different level of support that helps create and maintain our school family environment.

What is the most important life lesson you want a child to learn in your classroom?
You don’t have to be “perfect” to be amazing. I want my students to know that making mistakes is part of the learning process! Additionally, I want them to know how important it is to always do “your” best. My “best” may be different than someone else’s, and that is okay. If you know you have done all that you can, you should feel proud of your accomplishments.
