I envision fostering a work ethic in my students that will carry over into college and into the work place.
What is the most important life lesson you want a child to learn in your classroom?
The most important life lesson I like my students to learn is perseverance. Never giving up is a quality that can get you through just about any challenge.
How do you inspire a student who has a hard time with your subject area?
I try to meet them on their level, and provide them with examples that make sense to them. Getting them to come in during office hours and work with me one on one is crucial.
How do you apply the latest technology in your class?
love gadgets, so I like to use software that visually shows complicated processes and makes them easier to understand. Whether it’s the calculator emulator or applets for Physics, showing students a visual representation of complex problems helps them learn the concepts.
What are some of your interests and passions outside of the classroom?
I love to travel, watch volleyball, swim, read and spend time with my family.
What is the best compliment you’ve ever received or could receive as a teacher?
The best compliment I’ve ever received is when one of my former students wrote that I was the best teacher she ever had, including her college professors.
