Speech and Debate
Last weekend, the HT Speech and Debate team kicked off their spring season at the three-day Sunvitational National Circuit tournament, attended by over 1,000 competitors from 30 states.
In Junior Varsity Public Forum, the team of Fefe Montalvo and Faz Zaidi had a perfect record of 7-0 in the preliminary rounds and advanced to Octofinals.
Our other HT competitors also had great performances:
In Lincoln-Douglas debate, Braxton Lanois (Varsity) and Gabe Sanders (Novice) were each only one win away from making it to the advanced rounds.
In her first time in high school Original Oratory, Karrington Lawson out-ranked several competitors.
In Duo Interpretation of Literature, Brianna Ramnath and Grace Price ranked 10th overall and defeated all other teams from Central Florida.
