Thank you so much for taking interest in the 2017 girls soccer program. This email is to inform everyone of pertinent dates and a little team info.
Try-outs for JV and varsity will be October 16th and 17th from 3:45 to 5:00PM on the practice field. If you cannot make it to tryouts this is ok! I will have case by case make up tryouts within the team practices the 18th-20th of October.
Preseason training for JV and varsity will start October 18th and end Nov 3. Preseason will be high intensity, the objective is to get everyone mentally and physically prepared for season. (WE WILL NOT RUN WITHOUT THE BALL. WE WILL DO ALL TRAINING WITH THE BALL AT OUR FEET AT A HIGH WORK RATE FOR SHORT INTERVALS.) Varsity preseason will be every week day from 3:15- 4:45 PM on the practice field. Additionally there will be one morning session a week before school to go over team tactics. JV preseason training will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 345- 445 pm on the practice field.
Varsity regular season practices will train every day there is not a game. JV will have 3 sessions a week unless a game falls on a practice day, then only 2 training sessions. Varisty will train from 3:15-4:45PM with the exception of the days leading to exams, exam days and a few other exceptions. JV will train from 3:45 - 5:00PM with the same exceptions for non-training days. Sometimes the practices are recovery days and only last 30-40 minutes. Varsity will have one additional morning practice per week to reenforce team tactics.
Our first Game is played on Tuesday, November 7 against MCC. I tried to only schedule one game a week. Unfortunately, there are a few weeks where we will have to travel for games twice a week (not very often). Preseason is short so we need to make sure we are putting 100% effort into preparing for the season.
Varsity will have a mandatory parent and student meeting at the tiger cafe on October 20th, 6:00 - 7:00 PM. This will include coaching staff introduction, game schedule, practice schedule, summer camp/ summer training schedule, expectations, fundraising, team functions and events and any questions.
