Holy Trinity’s tagline is: “Start Here. Go Anywhere.” How do you envision helping students to live this motto?
To me the motto, "Start Here. Go Anywhere." is a statement about the quality of education that HT provides its students. This caliber of education will enable them to go onward in life and tackle any and all things that come their way. With regard to how I may help students live this motto, there is another saying, hindsight 20/20. I endeavor to help students analyze history so that they may learn from the lessons of the past in order to guide them in the future.
"Whoever wishes to foresee the future must consult the past; for human events ever resemble those of preceding times. This arises from the fact that they are produced by men who ever have been, and ever shall be, animated by the same passions, and thus they necessarily have the same results." - Machiavelli
What motivated you to become a teacher?
Both my mother and grandmother were teachers. I guess you could say it is in my blood.
How do you apply the latest technology in your class?
Being up to date about technological practices is more than just knowing the new hardware. It is also about looking at the possibilities that that tech provides and creatively adapting it to your needs.
What are some of your interests and passions outside of the classroom?
Spending time with my family...preferably outdoors.
How do you measure your success as an educator?
If my students are able to make bigger connections with the content or if they can see the relevance of historic issues in a modern context, then I have succeeded.
