Mrs. Elling

Upper School Office Manager
Education: B.A., Elementary Education, Westminster College, New Wilmington, PA
Length of time in Education: 4 years

Holy Trinity’s tagline is: “Start Here. Go Anywhere.” How do you envision helping students to live this motto?
Support, support, support! Encourage, encourage, encourage! Pray, pray, pray! I will be a cheerleader for students and faculty, hoping to cheer people on toward all that God has for them each day and into their futures. In my role as Office Manager, I will strive to help hold things together for students and staff, providing helpful and smooth support in hopes of enabling each one to complete their daily tasks effectively and efficiently.

What do you look forward to the most about teaching at Holy Trinity?
As Office Manager, I am excited to join the team at Holy Trinity to be a part of the great things God is doing in and for kids within your walls. It will be a privilege to work in a place that holds true to biblical foundations and to work at passing that knowledge and experience on to the next generation of students, leaders, and really great humans.

What are some of your interests and passions outside of school?
Outside of school, I love to be outdoors. Camping and hiking are personal and family favorites. Digging in the dirt for the outcome of lovely flower beds and gardens is another way I enjoy being out in creation. I also LOVE great music. I can't really make much in the way of quality music, so I count myself as a music appreciator. I take that role very seriously! =) When my hands need to get busy with creativity, I enjoy quilting. It is a time-honored hobby in my family, and I still sleep under soft quilts made years ago by both of my grandmothers. One of my highest honors was getting to finish piecing and stitching a quilt started by one of my great grandmothers.

What experiences or people have had the most influence on you?
In college, I had an opportunity to try Tyrolean Traversing. This is a mountaineering activity where you cross through a free space above a gorge on a rope with the support of a harness and rope/pully system. It was terrifying, yet it emulated the physical, emotional, and spiritual experience of facing the scary, hard parts of life. Life can be tough, and this experience helped shape my ability to face hardship head on and from a faith/trust perspective.

If teaching was not your first professional career, what was?
My career began as the Director of Christian Education for a large church in Pennsylvania. I went on to focus on motherhood, taught middle school ELA for four years, and am now here at Holy Trinity in a support role while helping my family transition from south of Atlanta to Satellite Beach.

If you were not teaching, what would you be doing?
I would be traveling and hanging out with my family! My 24-year-old daughter just got married and lives in St. Paul, MN. My 22-year-old son just graduated from college and is moving to Pittsburgh, PA. I still get to hang out with my two youngest who will be in their junior and senior years in high school. However, once they move away, my travel calendar will remain FULL!
