The Growl’s editor-in-chief Nina Cinca, and sports editor Julia McCarthy, were both recognized recently by School Newspapers Online (SNO) for their excellent work in journalism.
SNO is the largest provider of online and mobile publishing for scholastic and collegiate journalism programs. They host several thousand high school and college news sites online throughout the United States and other parts of the world, including Holy Trinity’s student publication, The Growl. Nina’s article, At the End of Your Rope, explores the vicious cycle of competition in which teenagers live. Julia’s article, Club vs High School, looks at the choice a student athlete makes whether to play for their high school team or a club team. Both articles were featured on the SNO site, in a showcase of the best student journalism being produced by members of the SNO network.
