Meet the Co-Chairs of This Year’s Evening of Elegance, “A Night in Old Florida”

This year, two Holy Trinity parents, Colleen Middlebrooks and Michelle Shoultz, have graciously stepped forward to lead the school’s primary fundraiser of the year, Evening of Elegance.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the event, themed “A Night in Old Florida.” Evening of Elegance will be held Saturday, March 11 at 6 p.m. at the Merritt Island estate of Ed and Cheryl Scott, the generous donors responsible for The Scott Center for Worship & the Performing Arts, The Scott Center for Autism Treatment at Florida Institute of Technology (FIT), and many other charitable contributions in the Brevard community and beyond.

Both co-chairs have many connections to FIT, resulting in a partnership that will make the evening even more unforgettable. The master of ceremonies for the evening is Bino Campanini, Vice President of Alumni Affairs for FIT, Executive Director of the FIT Alumni Association, and father of Holy Trinity students, Gianluca, class of 2016, and Carlo, class of 2018. The evening’s gourmet Florida-inspired cuisine will be provided by Florida Tech’s assistant director of dining services, Evan Olsen, and Chef de Cuisine Jon Skoviera.

Colleen Craig Middlebrooks is the mother of Ava, grade 7, and Jake, grade 4, both of whom have attended Holy Trinity since preschool. She currently serves as the Director of Community Relations for Home Health Care of Florida and serves on numerous community boards and committees, including the fundraising committee for The Scott Center for Autism Treatment's annual event, An Evening of Hope; fundraising committee and co-chair in 2016 for the Bridges Foundation: Wacky Tacky Golf Tournament; Safari Under the Stars Committee at the Brevard Zoo; member of Brevard PALS , a local group supporting autism initiatives; and is the founder of the Scott Center Running Club to raise awareness and funds for autism. She formerly served as the Director of External Relations for The Scott Center for Autism Treatment at FIT.

Colleen attended Holy Trinity from 1986-1990, returned as the Lower School cheerleading coach from 1990-1994, taught at the Upper School from 2001 to 2003, and has served as a parent volunteer since 2008. She is married to Eulan Middlebrooks and is the daughter of Pat Craig, Director of Enrollment Management.

Chairing the event was a natural fit for Colleen. “I was eager to chair Evening of Elegance because of my long history at Holy Trinity,” she said. “I have served in a variety of roles: from student, to coach, to teacher, to parent. I was married at Holy Trinity church and had my children baptized there. It is a huge part of my life and always will be. I value all that the school stands for and feel that my children are in the very best possible place.”

Michelle Shoultz is the mother of Brock, grade 7, and Grant, grade 5, both of whom have attended Holy Trinity since kindergarten. She is a licensed professional engineer and president of Frazier Engineering, Inc., a construction and engineering firm. Michelle received her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University and her Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from FIT, where she also served as a teaching assistant and a research assistant. Her husband, Chad Shoultz, received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from FIT. He played baseball for the school and is now in the FIT Sports Hall of Fame. He currently serves as Vice President for Facilities and serves on the Alumni Board.

Michelle serves as a board member and secretary of the Brevard Rescue Mission, is a Habitat for Humanity Women Build volunteer, and is a parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.

When asked to serve as the event’s co-chair, Michelle said she was “flattered and honored to be given the opportunity.” She added, “Without scholarships, it would have been so much harder for me to pay for my education. I love seeing that HT’s Academic Merit Scholarship program sets high standards and accountable milestones for deserving kids."

She hopes that all Holy Trinity families will support the event. “We all have busy lives and hectic schedules – and luckily the academic, fine arts and athletic activities that our kids are involved with give us parents a great opportunity to catch up and get to know each other. But, this event allows all families an evening to enjoy together, whether your child is at the Lower or Upper School, band or chess club, girls’ or boy’s athletic programs, while also helping a child better their future and obtain a great education.”
