Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Names Director of Advancement

Alumna and Former Teacher Colleen Middlebrooks Welcomed Back to HTEA Family in Fundraising Role
Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy announced today that Colleen Middlebrooks has been named the school’s director of advancement effective July 5, 2017. In her new role, Middlebrooks will lead all fundraising and development efforts for the private school, including its two major events, the Vicky Hurst Holy Trinity Golf Tournament and Evening of Elegance gala, as well as its annual fund, planned gifts, endowments, capital development and grant writing.

Most recently, she served as assistant administrator for Melbourne Terrace Rehab Center, where she provided leadership and oversight at the skilled nursing facility.  She also helped direct the company’s charitable donations and served as one of the company’s community liaisons. Earlier in her career, she spent five years as director of external relations for The Scott Center for Autism Treatment, managing the center’s marketing and fundraising efforts, including its signature Evening of Hope gala.  Middlebrooks also lends her time and talents to a number of other charitable causes and events, including serving as a committee member for Brevard Zoo’s Safari Under the Stars and for Bridges’ Wacky Tacky Golf Tournament.

Middlebrooks has a long history with Holy Trinity. She attended the school during her elementary and middle school years, prior to its expansion into grades 9-12, then began her professional career there as a teacher and coach. She is the parent of two current students, and has served in various volunteer capacities over the years, most recently as co-chair of the school’s 25th annual Evening of Elegance: “A Night in Old Florida.”

According to Katherine Cobb, J.D., president of Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, Middlebrooks was a natural choice for the position. “We at Holy Trinity are delighted that Colleen Middlebrooks has accepted the role of director of advancement. Her long history and passion for our school, her many years of fundraising experience, and her strong record of community involvement make her the ideal candidate to lead our school’s advancement and fundraising efforts.”

Middlebrooks is equally thrilled to be coming “back home” to Holy Trinity. “As a former Holy Trinity student, coach, teacher, volunteer and current parent, I look forward to helping to grow the school by expanding our reach in the community,” she said. “I also look forward to connecting with current families, alumni, and community supporters to work on initiatives to enhance both the Lower and Upper Schools.”
